Fall Flavor on the Grill: Smoked Apple Bourbon Pork Tenderloin

As the leaves turn and the air gets crisp, it’s time to fire up the grill and embrace the bold flavors of fall. At The Grill Guys, we believe autumn is prime time for outdoor cooking—and this smoked apple bourbon pork tenderloin is the perfect way to celebrate the season.

The Recipe: Smoked Apple Bourbon Pork Tenderloin

This dish combines sweet apples, smoky bourbon, and savory pork for a rich, comforting meal that’s perfect for chilly evenings.

Ingredients:

  •  pork tenderloins

  • 1/4 cup bourbon

  • 1/2 cup apple cider

  • 2 tbsp Heath Riles Apple Rub (available in-store)

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 apple, thinly sliced

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Pork: Rub tenderloins with applewood rub, salt, and pepper. Let sit for 30 minutes.

  2. Make the Glaze: In a saucepan, combine bourbon, apple cider, mustard, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Simmer until slightly thickened.

  3. Smoke It Low & Slow: Using your Pitts & Spitts smoker (available at The Grill Guys), smoke the pork at 225°F for about 1.5 hours or until internal temp hits 145°F.

  4. Glaze & Grill: Brush glaze over pork and grill for 5–10 minutes to caramelize.

  5. Serve: Top with fresh apple slices and drizzle remaining glaze.
